The Imola bike - SOLD

2022 revolves around the historic procurement and preparation of the 1972 Ducati Imola Racer for a private collector and its first place trophy at The Quail Motorsports Event.

This 750 Imola is one of seven produced in 1972. After passing hands in 2022 it now stands as a world record sale. Authenticated by contributing editor and world-renowned motorcycle historian, Ian Falloon, this motorcycle is the most important, rare, and celebrated procurement by Moto Borgotaro to date.

Following the private sale of the historic 1972 Ducati Imola Racer, Moto Borgotaro was entrusted with the management and entry of the Imola bike alongside the Guggenheim 750SS and the NCR TT1 bike into the 2022 Quail Motorsports Event at Pebble Beach.

The judges awarded the Imola 750 Racer a 1st place trophy win in the “Sports and Racing Motorcycles” series

THE Guggenheim bike - SOLD

The “Guggenheim” Ducati 750 Super Sport is a never started, completely original 1974 Green Frame. After compiling a historical report, Ian Falloon summarized the bike by saying:

“The extraordinary motorcycle is not only unique, but as the finest example of one of the most desirable and important Ducatis ever built, it is a work of art.”

The NCR TT1 Race Bike - SOLD

In June 1978 the great motorcycle champion Mike Hailwood came out of retirement and rode a Ducati 900 NCR TT1 to victory in the TT F1 race at the Isle of Man. This victory was Ducati’s most significant since the Imola 200 in 1972.

The example procured by Moto Borgotaro is undoubtedly one of an estimated 18 bikes produced between 1977-1980 by the NCR race shop and only one of five or six still in original, unraced condition.

The Woods Bike - SOLD

Sold in 2022, this 1974 Ducati 750SS “Green Frame” is a unique outlier to the 401 examples produced.

This Super Sport was built by legendary southern California hot rod shop, Woods Motor Shop, and restored in 2013 to retain the Woods influence and style - a nod to its true hot-rod beginnings. The engine was completely rebuilt and the bike was sold with a set of original bodywork with the possibility of being both a bespoke custom and an original.

The Keith Hale Bike - SOLD

This 750SS, with a documented story of continual ownership and regular use for nearly fifty years, became somewhat of an obsession in 2021. After producing a feature-length film and documentary about Keith Hale, the bike’s owner, the 750SS was sold for a second time in 2022.
