About the Shop

Moto Borgotaro is dedicated to riding, restoring and servicing European motorcycles.

Our full-service shop specializes in BMW, Ducati, Laverda, Norton, Moto Guzzi and Triumph, and is equipped to handle everything from regular-maintenance service intervals to full custom restoration.

We stock a full range of service items and routinely work with customers to procure hard-to-find parts and to establish and achieve short- and long-term service goals. In addition to service work we also offer basic maintenance clinics for customers and sell previously owned motorcycles.

We are in business because we believe in the value of machines that are designed to last forever, and that a properly maintained vintage motorcycle can be just as fun and reliable to ride as a modern bike—and thoroughly more rewarding to own.

HISTORY

Moto Borgotaro owner Peter Boggia is a native New Yorker with more than a dozen years of service experience. In 1998 he moved to New Orleans where he developed an expertise in vintage European motorcycle repair and restoration while apprenticing under one of the most accomplished mechanics in the industry.

When fate intervened in the form of Hurricane Katrina, Boggia was forced back to his family roots in New York. By that time his affinity for vintage Italian motorcycles bordered on obsession, and as he rebuilt a Moto Guzzi Lemans salvaged from Katrina he started finding private clients in need of service work.

Boggia opened Moto Borgotaro in 2008, and with zero advertising the shop has steadily grown by word of mouth alone, fueled by a community looking for quality, personalized service.

The name, Borgotaro—which comes from the village in Italy where the Boggia’s family originally hails from—is a nod to the Old World sense of value and tradition the shop aspires to.
